Outreach (September 2007 -> present)
Outreach is how the project begins, but is also a constant component of the project that will remain so throughout the project duration. Outreach is essentially when a trained team of social workers goes out onto the streets and makes contact with the children. The objective is to build trust with the children through non-intrusive methods. This lays the foundations for creating the necessary relationships with the children in preparation for the project.

The outreach team often work through the night as many children and youth work during the night. Football tournaments are organised monthly.
Street children tend not to trust adults, hence the importance of activities, games, non-formal education activities and first aid to build this. Little is given to the children during outreach, apart from time, care and friendship. The reason for not giving to the children (in the way of regular meals, money, material goods etc.) is so that FACE does not make their lives on the streets easier, but instead encourages them slowly, through contact, to make the decision to move off the streets.
The outreach team is patient and continues contact with the children offering only their unconditional love and commitment to them; this, we have seen, is the most effective measure used worldwide to get children off the streets and back into society. It is however, a time consuming process, but one that must be respected for results.

Nourishment in the form of fruits and healthy snacks is given after activities.

International trainers offer their skills by proposing trainings on all the aspects of the development of the project.
Here, the team learns to distribute its time within the city of Cairo by distinguishing which districts are the most frequented by the children of streets and how to collect and to analyze these statistics.

The children respond very well to methods of informal education.
The medical team of FACE looks after the wounds of the children in streets and in the Center El Salam
