FACE has now been working for 6 years in Egyptian orphanages.

As a result, the organisation has been able to confirm that there was a serious problem regarding the level of care given to the children, because the untrained and underpaid nurses were not motivated, consequence : the children suffered dreadfully and did not receive adequate care.

FACE is aware of and convinced of the fact that good professional training results in deep and sustainable changes. Through education, training and development, real changes can be made.

This is why FACE has created and developped its own training programme for its Egyptian staff working on the various FACE projects.

Staff Appraisals

After one year of training, FACE will only extend an employment contract once the theoretical and practical skills of each trained employee have been confirmed.

First, the staff does a self-appraisal, then they are assessed by the project manager and the director of the orphanage. The decision as to whether they remain at FACE is made by the Director of FACE Egypt and the organisation's founder.

Once approved, the employees are employed on a permanent basis where salary increases are foreseen.

Contract with the Egyptian Ministry of Social Affairs

On 3rd June 2009,  a contract was signed with the Egyptian Ministry of Social Affairs to provide this training with them in all the government orphanages.

In collaboration with the Ministry, FACE will appoint a team of 12 trainers who will be completely trained by FACE. Thus, FACE will develop a special 'Trainer of Trainers (TOT)' programme.
